ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, “Indeed, God, almighty and sublime is He, created His creation (1) in darkness (2), then He cast from His light upon them. Those touched by that light, are guided, and those who miss it, stray [from the path of truth]. For that reason, I say that the pen has dried (3) upon the knowledge of God.” (1) This refers to human beings and jinn (creatures of fire created before humans who have also been given the ability to understand, think and choose. Though unseen to us, they can both see and hear us. The most famous of them is Satan.) Angels, however, are created from light. (2) The darkness of a soul that is naturally disposed to evil. (3) An expression meaning that there can be no alteration to matters decreed by God. ”
